Examine ways to design, implement, and assess group assignments for your courses. Through hands-on workshops, discussions with colleagues, and interviews with students about their group learning experiences, learn to design short or long term group assignments that support your teaching goals

  • Brings tenured and tenure-track faculty together to explore the benefits and challenges of integrating group work into courses.

  • Focuses on designing and implementing group assignments that help students achieve your learning outcomes,

  • Explores ways to create groups, facilitate smooth interactions, anticipate problems, efficiently administer projects, and assess both individual and group learning.

  • Shares sample group contracts, tasks, plans, grading rubrics, and peer evaluation forms.

    Who? Open to a maximum of 15 faculty members. When reviewing applications, care will be given to include faculty from a broad range of disciplines.

    What? This day-long Group Work Institute will feature working sessions, guided discussions, and networking events led by Cornell faculty and CTI staff. These hands-on sessions will culminate in a poster session where participants can share their group work plan. 

    When? Monday, December 4th, 2017 from 9AM - 3PM

    Where? 225 King-Shaw Hall, ILR CC
